Looking forward to it: The musicians of the Nordby, Ski and Drøbak/Frogn school marching bands are looking forward to the celebrity concert at Rådhusteatret in Ski. Here are both marching bands, drill and juniors are gathered at the joint rehearsal at Nordby school on Monday night.
There’s going to be a sold out house at Rådhusteatret on Sunday afternoon, and a 100 young musicians will have a memory for life. At 4 pm things will go off with a bang for the members of Nordby, Ski and Drøbak/Frogn school marching bands. This is the fifth year we will have a celebrity concert. It started with our 50 year anniversary in 2009. Back then Rein Alexander joined us. We felt it worked out so well that we wanted to have more people join us. Ski and Drøbak/Frogn joined us after.

He came from nowhere in 2009 and took Europe by storm when his super hit “Fairytale” won the Eurovision Song Contest. Now, Alexander Rybak, tells in an exclusive interview for Poplight, his opinion of what is good music and about his plans for the future. – My dream for the future is to settle down and just write songs, Alexander Rybak says.
Alexander Rybak is currently in Skellefteå for the weekend to give two concerts together with string students from music schools in Skellefteå, Umeå and Lycksele. The music school in Skellefteå has arranged this in connection with its 50 years anniversary.
Poplight met the Norwegian violinist, and artist, after a practicing session with the students.

Fireworks with Rybak
Alexander Rybak inspired young musicians.
It was a firework of a concert in every way, when Vestre region Youth Symphony Orchestra and children from culture schools across the region performed at Byscenen on Sunday.
Alexander Rybak is hired as a recruiting magnet and does his job with high satisfaction. There will be a lot of fantastic music in the years to come.

Violins everywhere in the concert finale
Vattnäs : The last event of the summer took place in Vattnäs concert barn during the weekend when Alexander Rybak performed with around twenty youngsters. This fall there will be new projects in the barn. On Saturday youngsters from among other places: Sollerön, Älvdalen and Oslo, who are on the way to become professional musicians, performed with Alexander Rybak in Vattnäs concert barn.

New round with Alexander Rybak
Alexander is back as an instructor at Aalesund Orchestra School, and is more nervous than he was before Grand Prix.
“This is something totally new for me, because this time it’s my own project. It shapes my future”, Alexander Rybak (25) says.
“This is what I like to work with. To make concerts with children and young people which turns into unique experiences for the audience. It’s regardless of age and music tastes. A little pop, some classical and some folk songs”, he says.
