This comes really late but here is my report of the concert in Göteborg. We arrived to Gothemburg about 1 hour late. Never count on SJ to be on time… I decided it was no idea to go to the hotel and instead I hurried to the info to get a map over the town, It was my time in Gothemburg not spent at the station. The girl at the info heard I was from Stockholm and asked what I was doing in Gothemburg. I told her about the concert, she had no clue who Alexander was, but told me to enjoy it. I got to the place I thought was the concert hall but wondered if I was right.

Boris Svetlov and Alexander Rybak
This Autumn Alexander Rybak will hold concerts in the cities of Belarus with the local children’s orchestras. This decision was made by the Ministry of Culture of Belarus after the meeting with the artist, – reports the correspondent of BELTA.
The singer told the Minister of Culture of Belarus, Boris Svetlov, about his experience in organising concerts with children’s orchestras in Scandinavia and America. “I made arrangements for the orchestra in different genres – either it was jazz , rock, classical or popular music , practised with the children’s orchestra, and we made good concerts . I have a dream to organise such a project in my homeland,” – said the artist .
Alexander Rybak shone onstage at Brygga Kultursal in Halden on Thursday night. He wanted to be a part of the 45th anniversary of Halden Municipal Culture School. When it began in 1968 the name was Halden Music School. In the background we catch a glimpse of the versatile performances in front of a very satisfied audience. Alexander with the fiddle in Gomerhuset. Came, played, sаng and won!
Article written by Bjørn Steinar Skarbø
It was full house and a good atmosphere from first to last tone in Gomerhuset in Skodje when Alexander Rybak had a concert with band and more than 100 young musicians from Aalesund Orchestra School.
And Rybak really showed us the combination he is known for, as both talented musician and entertainer. And if we add that he also let many of the young people get the chance to show their skills, combined with a solid grip on the audience, it was not a surprise that it was a success. At least not since many in the audience had a close relationship with one or several people on stage.
Musically it was a versatile concert Rybak presented. Of course “Fairytale” was played, in this occasion renamed to “Musevisa” (It’s his usual joke where he rename Fairytale to a welknown song due to the country he is in. “Musevisa” is a Norwegian well known children song.F.e. Tessa La). In Sweden he used another songtitle., and there were both classical and folk and pop songs, part of it in English and Swedish. With his own band in the middle of all the young strings, could he add extra rhythm, pressure and beat to the music, which was exploited in a great way.
Alexander had the premiere of his new music project with the Summer School Orchestra and his old band this Wednesday, August 10, 2010 in Skodje (outside Ålesund) at the music festival Fjord Cadenza. It appeared a great mix of classic, jazz and pop music! Many thanks to Sabine Fundel, Susanne Berlin and Tessa Lande for making the recording of the songs! 🙂
