The girls were first one on stage, but after the first song Alexander appeared. The applause had hardly died down before Rybak began to play on the violin a melody familiar to his fans. The audience was especially pleased how the sound of the violin was mixed with the elements of rock and roll. The whole performance was accompanied by a dance group and the pianist Mikhail Orgesh.

Alexander Rybak is in an active searching process. No, the winner of “Eurovision-2009” has no plans to look for his ladylove. This time, all thoughts of the 28-year-old musician are dedicated entirely to his new projects: the other day, he announced the all-Belarusian casting for a new girl band. Newfound Norwegian Meladze (a famous Ukrainian composer and producer) and his team will personally tour around cities and villages to find the most beautiful and strong-voiced Belarusian girls. In addition to Rybak’s patronage, these girls are promised one more substantial stake: this spring, the new girl band will go to Vienna to conquer the sixtieth anniversary of the “Eurovision Song Contest 2015”.

Alexander Rybak helps Belarus warm up for Eurovision
Former Eurovision winner Alexander Rybak usually has rather busy time of it in the run up to Eurovision each year, and this year is no exception. Not only has young Mr Rybak been busy featuring in a popular TV series in Norway, he’s apparently heading East for Easter.
Having wowed audiences at home in Norway with a number of superb renditions of other people’s hits in the smash series Hver Gang Vi Møtes, Alexander Rybak is spending his Easter where it all started. Following his landslide victory at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest with Fairytale, Eastern Europe welcomed Rybak with open arms, with his place of birth Belarus in particular becoming one of his major markets.

Rybak sees a talent from afar
Sensational in every sense, the TV project of the STV channel “Singing cities” is getting ready to interest and firmly glue many viewers to the screen in its second season. Straight away the show brought the statue in the entertainment category of contest ” Tele-top-2013″ to its creators. And what a noise the participants have made! I mean, they sang a lot of songs, and the quantity of the the songs were even more during the qualifying stages. And this year we can do nothing without casting too. Before the show will go to the second round , you need to find the most talented contestants. Last week, the selection finally took place in Minsk , and correspondents of ” SB” did not miss a chance to look into the Youth Estrade Theatre. Alexander Rybak: “I am delighted to have been invited to judge Belarusians in a positive way”
It’s cramped and noisy behind the scenes of the Youth Variety Theatre: the crew of the channel “STV” finishes setting up the lighting and adjusts the decorations – in just a few minutes the casting of the second season of the project “Singing cities. The second season.” will start in the hall. While dozens of contestants are nervous in the hall, the main star of the day – a famous European artist – and along with it, our countryman, Alexander Rybak, prepares himself behind the scenes. The young man came to the Belarusian capital only with his manager and literally for only one day – to take part in the project. There is no place to turn around in a very small dressing room, but the guy doesn’t get upset, he quickly brushes up, checks his violin and goes to more spacious hall.

Alexander Rybak: “It’s very nice – to make people happy!”
Interviewer: Daria Egorchenko
We happened to meet Alexander Rybak at the Award Ceremony “Top 50 successful and beautiful people of the city of Minsk,” where he performed as the guest of honor. Prior to that, I only heard from my colleagues and others about what a sociable and pleasant person Alexander is. Here he is smiling on the photo with a daughter of my friend, here he is signing her exercise books, here he is holding her in his arms at his concert … It seems none of our stars can manage to become an idol that quickly or easily. And all of that because Alexander is very sincere. And absolutely not “star-like”. However, judge for yourself.

Rybak has said – the artists have done
Attention, attention! The date of the “Eurofest” national competition’s final was changed: instead of January 28th we will choose the best one on January 31st. So, the contestants of the project have got a little more time to prepare themselves. A visit to Minsk of Alexander Rybak, the winner of “Eurovision-2009”, has become its hit moment. Sasha, our former compatriot now living in Norway, volunteered to help each of the five finalists, for that he came to Minsk for only one day. The group “Litesound”, Victoria Aleshko, Gunesh and director of Alena Lanskaya, Sergey Kravtsov, attended a laconic master-class by Rybak. Where at that time was Alena herself and why the contestant Uzari did not attend the “lessons” – was revealed during this merry and witty meeting with Rybak.
Europe got kefir.
It was frankly embarrassing for Alexander to unmask the contestants, evaluate them and comment on their performances in the semifinal eye to eye. Try it yourself to put a live artist in front of you and to say something derogatory to him. A student of the Norwegian Conservatory, Alexander Rybak, is too well brought up to do it, so in fact discussion on the performances was very complimentary. So, according to Sasha, a group “Litesound” has the most “Western” style. And if they will make it to the final and come to ESC in Baku, then «everybody in Denmark and Sweden will fall in love” with their song – “We are the heroes”. And Rybak admits he is not averse to singing their tune in the shower.

Winner of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, Norwegian singer of the Belarusian origin Alexander Rybak told the finalists of the TV music project Eurofest (national selection of the Eurovision) to take the contest as a holiday. The artist gave a press conference in Minsk on 5 January.
“The most importantthing is to take the contest as a holiday and forget about the victory, you should enjoy the process. It rarely happens that all things go as planned. Therefore, you should thoroughly prepare for both Eurofest and Eurovision and when you come to the big stage you should never forget why you are there. Some people forget,” the artist said. Besides, it is very important that the team of a participant thinks about the country it represents first, not about personal interests as it often happens at Eurovision. The team should work for the common purpose.
Alexander Rybak praised the high level of the Eurofest music show. He regretted that the group Thriller who did a great show did not make it to the final. He gave tips to each finalist of the show. Alexander Rybak noted the catchy melody of the song We are the Heroes of the group Litesound and said that he even sang it in the shower a day before. “A trendy song, good English,” he said. Gunesh has a charming smile and a strong voice, Alexander Rybak said. Alena Lanskaya is definitely vocally gifted. Alexander Rybak recommended her to make the music more quiet to emphasize her voice. Viktoria Aleshko, according to Alexander Rybak, has the strongest voice among all the finalists.

“Eurovision was the peak of my career”, Alexander Rybak says.
The press conference started with showing the video clip of the Russian version of Europe’s Skies. “I really like the clip, it’s my first Russian clip,” Rybak said.
He was asked about the ability of Belarus organising also the Eurovision Song Contest and he replied with a positive note.
“It’s [Junior Eurovision Song Contest] the same kind of a competition as the Eurovision Song Contest, so I see no problem with organising that as well in Minsk,” the winner of the 2009 edition of Europe’ favourite TV-show said.
“I’ve said after the Eurovision Song Contest that this was the peak of my career as I don’t think I’ll ever perform to a bigger audience but it doesn’t mean the quality of my singing will be worse,” he explained when asked about his victory at Europe’s favourite TV-show.
