Here we have the performance of Alexander’s Eurovision Medley at the MGP Final in 2012, where he gave a special tribute to Stella Mwangi who had just lost her father, and made all the audience to raise up and dance and sing along.

Alexander Rybak – Looking back – Suddenly I´m famous….

Tonight it’s 5 years since Alexander Rybak won the Norwegian ESC selection, MGP with his Fairytale. To celebrate we asked for a little interview. So here it is, fresh from New York, where Alexander has a concert to conclude the seminar he has held for young talented children there this week.

Suddenly I´m famous…. a look back.

Looking back at the last 5 years, have they turned out the way you hoped for, and what would you do differently if you won ESC today, based on the experience you have had?

AR: I may have trusted my instincts more, instead of doing everything as I was told to, by the book. But fortunately I understood this pretty fast, and now I am the master of my own life.

Alexander gets the royalties: Million coup.

Alexander Rybak can laugh all the way to the bank after his record breaking victory in Melodi Grand Prix yesterday.

– It feels great, and overwhelming. It`s so wonderful that I get the chance to be the fiddler I`ve always dreamt of becoming.- Rybak says to VG. Last night the heartthrob celebrated his crushing Grand Prix victory at Hard Rock Cafe, after having received the amazing amount of 747 888 audience votes (the highest amount in the history of MGP), and beating the seven other finalists with the song “Fairytale”.

Thanks his ex-girlfriend

With three Eurovision winners on a stage they have a lot of ballast in common. It is in the age that the range is large. Elisabeth Andreassen sends messages to the two boys, Alexander Rybak and Didrik Solli-Tangen, that they are some sweet young puppies, and that it is very nice to have them included in the stage show, but she gets answer to the indictment. They are not totally subservient the two, they can catch up.

‎(Dagbladet): Alexander Rybak provided a great break performance before tonight’s Grand Prix show winner was declared.

After the Plumbo, Nora Foss Al-Jabri, Tooji and Petter Øien and Bobby Bare had passed thorugh to the golden final, the stage was set for the Eurovision Medley in Oslo Spektrum.

Rybak sang songs by both the artists, Johnny Logan and Olsen Brothers, before he made the entire audience to stand up.

– This one’s for you, Stella! Rybak said, before he started last year’s winning song “Haba Haba”.

Stella Mwangi was suppose to be on stage tonight, but withdrew after his father, Jeff Mwangi Kwirikia was killed in a car accident on Tuesday last week. He was hit by a motorist who ran away from the place, but a person turned himself in later and are now charged in the case.

Yesterday he was buried in Ullensaker church, and he will later be buried in his native country of Kenya.

– Now I’ve really hit the ground, and I do not know if I manage to get up again. But I hear dad’s voice say “stand up”, “stand up,” Stella said in the church.

Among the nearly three thousand spectators, one could also find some previous Eurovision winners. Didrik Solli-Tangen and Alexander Rybak had made the trip to be a part of the cheering audience. A position they were really satisfied with. “Right now, I could not imagine standing on stage. There is tremendous pressure and a lot of nerves. I’m just fine here as a clapping audience,” Rybak smiles, and get support from Solli-Tangen: “Tonight I’m enjoying the other’s achievements. And by saying that, I have to say that the representatives from Larvik has done an incredibly good job tonight”.

Alexander Rybak, is the man on everyone’s lips right now. The (betting) odds have pointed to his advantage ever since it became clear that he would be Norway’s representative in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. “Gylleneskors” (Golden shoes) Bjorn Nordlund, Alexander Borodin and Irina Karelina met up with him when he was on a short promotional stop in Stockholm before leaving for Moscow. It became a different kind of interview where Rybak told with his own words about what has happened so far, what goes on, and what he thinks about Eurovision.
