MH: First question: Sasha hi. Tell me please how is it to sing and play the violin at the same time?

AR: I haven’t done this before, it’s tricky. I always finish singing and then start with the violin; I finish playing and then start singing again It’s kind of like traveling between Norway and Russia

– I can’t have a girlfriend. Or rather, I shouldn’t say that for certain. But becoming my girlfriend means getting a lot of harassment from many other girls, and I would not wish that for anyone, Alexander tells Se & Hør. Continue reading Alexander Rybak — Interview in Se&Hør 10.10.2014

We came to know him just 2 years ago, after his victory in the ESC 2009. Ever since then, Alexander Rybak has not been lost amongst the countless European pop artists and has become one of the most popular artists in Europe. Of course, he is especially loved in the CIS countries. This is understandable since Alexander is of Belorussian origin, though he represented Norway in the famous song contest. Moreover, the musician doesn’t become tired of repeating  throughout interviews that  considers himself Russian in soul.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2011, which ended several months ago, could not have take place without Alexander’s participation either. This time around, Alexander tried out a new role as a host and reporter for  Norwegian TV. The day before his trip to Dusseldorf, he found the time to answer to our questions discussing the attention he receives from girls, his first self-earned income and the contents of his luggage.

We tried to get an interview with you right after you won the Norwegian national ESC-final last year. Your manager said that they would probably try to make an appointment, but somehow we never got an interview. Did you hear anything about the interview?

No, and that is one reasons why I have changed manager. I was also scheduled to perform at a children’s festival. Suddenly it was gone from the calendar, and when I asked why, I was told that they would not have me after all. I called them to check, and was told that they wanted me, but that 200 000 NOK was too much for them. It’s okay that people are megalomaniac, but not that they are dishonest. I become directly evil when I do not get what I want…

Evil? Define evil, eh, please?

It is more proper to say I become like a spoiled little child. Prior to the ESC this year, NRK and my former management decided that I should fly down to the stage. I did not want to do that. When I got zero response to my complaints, I chose rather to go to VG [newspaper] and tell that they wanted me to fly. Thus, the news was released, so they had to drop the idea. But it sucks that I need to burn bridges to get what I want.
