DOKKA: The Tomle-Svendsby sisters and the more than 100 dancers made a big show at the cinema, with Alexander Rybak as a guest artist.
You just have to take off your head gear and bow to the dust over the commitment, the glow, the dance happiness and the scene radiance that was shown during the dance show ‘Fairytales – still dreaming’ . The show has had four packed performances at the Dokka cinema during the weekend, with 1500 enthusiastic spectators. This was just awesome. You have to go far to find something as good as this! The response from the audience after the show was unambiguous. An ecstatic audience got on their feet and gave the more than 100 girls and boys at the stage standing ovations. And the judgment was clear: Dokka and Nordre Land have a fantastically good dance milieu. Basta!
Alexander was the guest at the popular TV show “Pame Paketo” on Alpha TV in Greece. The episode was aired on October 13, although the shootings for the show had occurred on September 30. The show is about reuniting people who have been apart for years, by sending them a package. In this case, several of Alexander’s Greek fans, who had not met him for 2,5 years, were the package senders.

– “Alexander is very smart. At many of the concerts he starts by playing a Norwegian folk-tune, before he sets in with the monster-hit “Fairytale”. He is very cunning in that way. He challenges people with new stuff, instead of making them feel, he forces stuff upon them”,- NRK programme leader Per Sundnes, explains. He has made the portrait of the MGP-winner.
Europe is Alexander’s new home. This is the movie about this journey. A document of this years Fairytale.
The boy with the violin became a national hero in Norway, a musical phenomenon, a teen-idol. The 23 year old from Belarus, won countless hearts during those 3 minutes on the 16th of May 2009. The next 6 months he went out to meet these hearts. Come with Alexander to Giske, when he’s back at the place where he wrote Fairytale; to Finland where he meets thousands of screaming fans, and to the start of his European tour in Ukraine.
Per Sundnes, the one who was in charge of MGP/ESC Norway the year Alexander Rybak won Eurovision, talks about Alexander and his victory in Moscow on NRK “Førkveld” 7.1.2011.
Interesting to hear Per telling about how all the coincidences which happened that year led to the big victory.

Alexander Rybak performing at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in 2009.
Alexander was one of the artists that performed at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in 2009, in Oslo Spektrum, Norway, in honor of the President of the United States, Barack Obama, who got the Nobel Peace Prize 2009. The concert was hosted by Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith.
“Fairytale” was rearranged especially for this performance.
Alexander accidentally dropped his violin on the floor, and it got out of tune. This video shows the performance corrected by NRK, by using the sound from the last rehearsal before the concert.
