The Fiddler from Norway: Alexander Rybak comes to Toronto !

   First off, before I go any further and begin my endless crazy fan girl mode, I will be breaking up this review into two parts, the first being the actual review of the concert, from the time i got there up until the meet and greet. The second part will be of a more personal nature, like, inspiration, motivation and….most importantly..FAN GIRLING! 🙂 ****Just a friendly warning**** You are warned, that from this point on there will be excessive fangirling, reader discretion is highly advised! Alexander Rybak gracefully took to the stage on February 23rd, coming way across the pond to make his Canadian debut, performing an exclusive one-time concert in Toronto’s Centre for the Arts in North York. North American Eurovision Song Contest and Rybak fans had a chance to come out of hiding, and out of hiding they certainly came, including a duo who flew in from Texas for the Norwegian violinist. Review of Alexander Rybak’s album “Christmas tales” from Canadian website

In 2012, Alexander Rybak, winner of the Eurovision Song Contest  2009, gave us his first Christmas album, “Christmas Tales”. You already know the vast majority, if not all, of the songs that are on this album. However, Rybak became known with his singing and his violin, and there is no exception on a title such as “Let It Snow”. Piano and the rest of the music are well done.

Thereafter, you cannot reinvent the classics, including “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”. Whether it is Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra, they forged the strength of this song and its history. This is probably why the version of Rybak is perfect for a new generation and it offers a younger voice, which has a potential for years to come. On “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” the female voice makes us relive our nostalgic moments of Christmas and Rybak’s violin gives it a special touch.
