The Norwegian celebrity magazine “Se og Hør” and TV2’s sing along summer show “Allsang på grensen” invited the Norwegian people to vote, during the summer, for the best Eurovision song of all time. The winner was announced at the final show 7th of August, and who else could the winner be than “Fairytale” by our one and only Alexander. “Se og Hør” also made an interview with Alexander which can read below.
In the Norwegian TV-show “Allsang på grensenAlexander Rybak performed his legendary “Fairytale”, and “Stjernen vår”, from his upcoming musical “Trolle”, in a duet with Ingeborg Walther. Ingeborg will play the role of “Alva” in the musical.

The talented young man represented Norway at the prestigious competition twice.
In 2009 he won the prestigious competition Eurovision Song Contest. Alexander Rybak, who was born in Belarus but represented Norway, won in a sovereign way. He got until then the highest number of points ever awarded.
With his “Fairytale”, to which he himself accompanied on the violin, he convinced most of the voting countries, where the song eventually became number one on the hit lists.
Last year, the talented young man represented Norway at the prestigious competition again. With the song “That’s How You Write A Song”, he didn’t repeat the success from years ago. Recently, however, he came to the Chart Show, where they rank the song (Fairytale) among the the biggest hits of Eurovision.

As the winner of Melodi Grand Prix 2018 Alexander would perform his last year’s winning song “That’s How You Write a Song” in the MGP final in 2019. It was also 10 years since he won an all time high with his legendary “Fairytale”, and Alexander surprised us all with a fantastic medley of not only his own two winner songs, but also gave a tribute to Norway’s two other Eurovision winner’s songs “La det swinge” and “Nocturne” .

Alexander Rybak is featured in Christian Ingebrigsten’s joik on “Muitte Mu”
In Norway the current series of “Muitte Mu” continues and the fourth episode had a great surprise for Alexander Rybak’s fans. In this episode it was the turn of Christian Ingebrigtsen He invited Alexander to play violin on his studio performance of the joik written to honour his father Stein Ingebrigtsen.
Christian has a special message for Alexanders fans and has told Alexander Rybak News ” It’s always a pleasure hearing Alexander play, and such an honour having him perform on my joik. He plays the melody beautifully.”

Alexander Rybak took home the victory in the Norwegian selection for Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with his song “That’s How You Write a Song”. What a show and what an energy! Spektrum concert hall exploded when Alexander performed. Such a worthy winner!

Alexander Rybak was one of the artists who supported the Salvation Army’s Christmas charity “Håp i ei gryte” (Hope in a pot), and performed on their Advent show, which was broadcast on Norwegian TV2 both on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of December.
Alexander Rybak performed his legendary “Fairytale” and did a beautiful cover of the Eurovision winner song from 1987 – “Hold Me Now” (Johnny Logan) in the TV-show “På resande not” on the Finnish TV-channel YLE.
The show was recorded 15th of June this year, and Alexander also gave an interview while he was in Finland. You can read the interview HERE.
Alexander Rybak and the other artists in “Stille Natt Hellige Natt” visited the Norwegian morning TV-show “God morgen Norge” (Good morning Norway) on TV2.
In addition to an interview they also performed the song “Just a Closer Walk With Thee“, a gospel song by an unknown composer, and the beautiful “Lys i mot Mørketida” by Trygve Hoff. Alexander Rybak was the guest artist in the final of the Norwegian Quiz-show “Quizdan”.
In addition to an interview, Alexander performed his song “I Came to Love You”, and the classical piece “Liebesleid” by Fritz Kreisler, accompanied by the pianist Stefan Ibsen Zlatanos. Alexander Rybak took part in the interval act in the Eurovision finale 2016. Watch the video below. The number is called “Love Love Peace Peace”, and according to Edward af Sillen the audience during the show 60 years has never seen a parody of the Eurovision in Eurovision. The bombastic tribute is about the trick to win Eurovision, which is analyzed at an institute in Switzerland and emerges the best of the winning songs:
– Everything crazy you have seen, from old ladies who bake bread to men in hamster wheels, and it’s apparently okay in Eurovision.
The number where the hosts Mans Zelmerlöw and Petra Mede – appearing in Charlotte Perrellis pink winning costume from 1999 – singing and dancing, shows a mix of everything. In addition to the old bread baking grannies and men in a hamster wheel, Alexander Rybak playing the violin on stage, while bare-chested men playing drums and then, among other things, Lordi pops up.

Alexander takes part in the Norwegian Christmas tour “Stille Natt Hellige Natt” (Silent Night Holy Night), with 52 concerts before Christmas Eve. Everywhere they perform, the audience give them great reviews, and Alexander gets big applause for his violin plays. Alexander Rybak, Rune Larsen, Marian Aas Hansen and Tore Endresen were guests in the Norwegian morning show “God morgen Norge” on TV2. Maria Haukaas Mittet, the fifth artist in the Christmas Concert, was recovering from illness and not present.

Alexander performed at the Grand Opening of the 24th Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk, Belarus, on the 9th of July, where he sang the song “Made in Belarus” together with other Belorussian artists – Alyona Lanskaya, Teo and Ruslan Alekhno.
Alexander is on of the 24 artists from all over the world who performed the official anthem “Live It” at the opening show for World Championship Men’s Handball 2015 in Qatar. You can read more about this unique project here
2014 will soon be over and we are summing up the new music released through the year where Alexander has taken part as composer, lyrics writer or performer. And we counted 24 new ones from 2014, not bad. Some songs are released worldwide, some only in Norway and some only as official videos on youtube so far. “When I was 4 years old, I and my parents moved from Belarus to Norway. Back then my parents brought some tapes of Russian movies with them. Among them, there was the comedy “The Irony of Fate”. I heard the song «Я спросил у ясеня» (“I Asked the Ash”) in that movie for the first time, said Alexander Rybak. – I’m familiar with the situation that this song tells about. Once, I myself had experienced the same emotions. The girl who I loved, and devoted my song “Fairytale” to, left me for my best friend. It was hard for me to pass through this break up. Now I try not to fall in love, and to put all my feelings into music”. Precisely this song was performed by Alexander in the Ukrainian musical TV-show “Meeting Place” on Saturday. The theme of this episode was cheating. And, in addition, Alexander played a piece of “Bergrosa” as the introduction to the song of another artist.
Alexander took part in recording of the Ukrainian music show called “Meeting Place” which took place this September in Kiev. Each episode of the show has its own special theme and today’s theme was about love, where Alexander performed “Fairytale”. Next week we’ll hear a beautiful Russian song “Ja sprosil u jasenja” from him.
Alexander took part in the Norwegian TV-show “The Hit” on October 10th 2014, where famous artists compete with songs written by amateurs. Unfortunately, Alexander didn’t win the duel, but he did his best and made a great performance which we can enjoy now! 🙂
Alexander Rybak was the Sunday guest in the Swedish morning show “Nyhetsmorgon” on TV4. He performed songs from his album “Visa Vid Vindens Änger” the one he made in collaboration with Mats Paulson, “Träden i Villa Borghese” and “Visa Vid Vindens Änger”. And also his new song “Into a Fantasy”, soundtrack on the DreamWorks animation movie “How to Train Your Dragon”.
