“Stjernen vår” – Alexander Rybak – video and lyrics

“Stjernen vår” (Our star) was performed by Alexander Rybak and Ingeborg Walther for the first time in the Norwegian TV-show “Allsang på grensen” 4.7.2019

“Stjernen vår” is a song from Alexander Rybak’s children’s book “Trolle og den magiske fela” and is written by Alexander and his father Igor.

The night Trolle and Alva became friends there was a star shining brighter than the others. Alva pointed at the star and said: “Let this be our star from now on, and it will always shine for us, no matter how far we are apart”.

The Norwegian lyrics are translated to English by Jorunn Ekre and Anastasia Silakova.

Stjernen vår

Alva:
When everything feels dark and hopeless
and the heart cries silently
look up, our star is shining
and healing all the wounds

Look, it shines just for us
every flower awakens
and soon the darkness will fade away
I’m with you, my friend

Trolle:
There once was a time
when hope was gone
they pushed me away over and over again
I fled from myself
I had no choice

Too late for me to turn back
but then one day you came
and woke all hope again
you called me your friend

Trolle and Alva:
Whatever happens to me
I’ll never forget you
and no mountain can keep us apart
our star shows us the way

And soon the darkness will fade away
I’m with you, my friend

Norwegian lyrics :

Stjernen vår

Alva:
Når alt er mørkt og tomt
og hjertet gråter stumt
se opp, der skinner stjernen vår
og leger alle sår

Se, den skinner kun for oss
der våkner hver en blomst
og snart vil mørket svinne hen
jeg er hos deg, min venn

Trolle:
Det var en gang en tid
da håpet var forbi
de skjøv meg vekk gang på gang
jeg flyktet fra meg selv
jeg hadde ingen valg

For sent for meg å snu
men så en dag kom du
og vekket alle håp igjen
du kalte meg din venn

Trolle og Alva:
Hva enn som hender meg
jeg glemmer aldri deg
og ingen fjell får skille oss
vår stjerne viser vei

Og snart vil mørket svinne hen
jeg er hos deg, min venn

Arad Aria Feat. Alexander Rybak – “Bade To” with lyrics

Alexander Rybak featuring Arad Aria in the song “Bade To”  (After You).

Alexander Rybak and Arad Aria (Iranian singer, composer and producer) have collaborated and released the new beautiful song in Farsi called “Bade To”, which translates to “After You”.

Although this music video was actually ready 16 months ago, Arad had to wait for the release licence in Iran, hence the delay. The wait was well worth it, however, as the two artists have provided us with a beautiful piece of art in which Arad sings and illustrates the heartbreak one feels after being abandoned by their love, and Alexander plays the elegant melody on the violin.  Continue reading Arad Aria Feat. Alexander Rybak at the “Victoriadagen” concert 14.07.2018

Alexander Rybak performed at the “Victoriadagen” concert.

“Victoriadagen” (The Victoria Day)  is a tribute to Crown Princess Victoria’s birthday. The celebrations usually take place on the island of Öland, where the Swedish Royal family spends their summer holiday. This year Alexander was one of the artists who performed at the concert for the Crown Princess.

Here is a playlist of Alexander’s performances, “Fattig Bonddräng” together with Kalle Moreaus, “Jealous” and “Song From a Secret Garden”.

Alexander also gave a short interview to the “Victoriadagen” Magazine.

How does it feel to perform in Sweden again and this time even for the Swedish Royal Family?

-What I like the most in life is to travel and play together with other people. And finally get to play at Øland (Sweden) for the Crown Princess together with great Swedish artists, is in fact a dream that came true.

-Some Swedes may remember me from the TV-show “Let’s Dance”, but most of my career has not been about dance but about violin play. I am still practising 3-4 hours per day to develop my talent.

What other career plans do you have in addition to perform at the “Victoriadagen”?

-In Norway it is soon the premier of my own musical, which is based on my children’s book “Trolle”. I like to work with children and have had the pleasure to take part in several music seminars in Sweden, where I have tried to inspire children and show them new ways of playing and experience music genres.

Tell us about your new song.

-My latest song I have called “Mamma” (Mom), because it is written for my Mom, but I’m not sure if that is the right song for the Crown Princess’s birthday. I will perform something special for both the Crown Princess and the audience in Borgholm.
