On July 31st. 2010, Alexander Rybak was giving a concert, with Elisabeth Andreassen and their mutual musicians, in the norwegian town Tonsberg – a bit south of Oslo. More than 70 fans of Alexander, who met eachother on his official facebook-fanpage, had decided to meet eachother in Tonsberg and go to the concert together on july 31st. They planned the travel and the meeting for a long time. Early, they realized, that this was going to be the largest gathering of Rybaks Facebookies, ever! “Greeting Sasza in Lodz Airport¨

I did not have much time to prepare for this meeting as it was announced at 11.30 that he would arrive in Lodz at 13.20. So I had to hurry up, pack for Warsaw (as I was going to Meet & Greet), run to the shop to buy small gift for the Fiddler and then at the bus stop, which fortunatelly is close to my house. I had a bit more than an hour for all of those, but I managed 🙂 I was supported by other Polish fans and my boyfriend 🙂

It was my first Facebookie meeting and my first time meeting Alex… so please forgive me if this report is too long and too full of nervous ramblings. My original report is about 4 times longer Ha ha…but I have toned it down, and just included the Alex bits.

FRIDAY (T= -1): The sun was shining on the glistening water of the Tonsberg fjord, and ten happy Facebookies were taking a stroll along the promenade after a successful shopping trip to buy the latest Alexander Rybak CD, (currently unavailable in the UK ,except on import). our hearts were light, the air was giggly. They were people from 20 countries, as far away as Ukraine, Russia, Greece, Turkey, Canada, Slovakia, Italy, Germany, Poland, Czech  rep. Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, France, Switzerland,  UK, Lithuania, Latvia and of course – Norway. Many of them arrived several days before the concert, to have a good time together.  Some of them had been to concerts of Alexander before and some of them, had met eachother before. But for some, it was their first concert and their first Facebookies-meeting.  Alexander and his management were told about the big Facebookie-meeting, that was being planned and they felt excited about it and offered to arrange a special event, a ” meet and greet ” for the facebookies, with all the artists of the concert. It was planned to take place in the evening, after the concert, but due to some change of plans, the ” meet and greet” was moved to the afternoon, before the concert. ESC UK Final Selection Report by Lillian L., March 12, 2010

ESC UK Selection Final 12-03-10

3 of us, myself, my sister Cathy and her daughter Danielle left Wales at 9:30am. We were advised not to drive directly to London as the parking, traffic and congestion charge are astronomical. Instead, we drove to Reading, which is approx 45 miles from London and caught the train for the last leg of the journey into the capital. Facebookies meeting the fiddler in Moscow. March 7th 2010. By Irina Kuvaldina.

Europe spies: Moscow operation

That day in Moscow was surprisingly sunny. And we know why:)) The fiddler arrives! FaceBookies (me, Yanis, Anton, Snezhanna, Margarita, Viktoria, Lena Snetkova and Lena Star) met each other at the airport. We didn’t know exactly the flight, but hoped to welcome our dear guests in the afternoon. While we were searching for some information airport staff has already understood who we’re waiting for=))) It was very kind of them to open the secret where Alex was. Firstly we didn’t believe them, but fortunately they were honest and really wanted to help us. We were so touched and thankful that we bought chocolate for that girls afterwards! Report from concert in Tallin, Estonia. March 8th 2010

Report from an Estonian fan 🙂

So, here is my report.

We arrived in Solaris center a few minutes before the signing session was to begin and went to the long line, where we met with another girl from Facebook, Kylcella. Alex arrived soon and teenager girls, who weren’t in the line, just stormed to him. Alex looked a bit tired at the beginning and had a kind of sad expression, even while smiling. But soon he looked much better and happier, so, it must be true, what he has always said about the signing sessions – that this is, where he gets his energy from. 🙂 The line was moving very slow because of those teenage girls, who weren’t standing in the line at all, but just pressing through. And the time went fast and the session was about to end – it was set from 16.45-17.30 only and the line was still pretty long . . . We realized with Kylcella, that we have to act more rude now, too, and pressed us through the crowd. The security was doing the best to protect him from fans, on the cost of politeness – they were rude to the crowd . . . happy, that Alex didn’t understand, what they were saying. :S Soon it was told to Alex, that the signing is over, but he looked at the long desperate line and said, he want’s that everyone gets the autograph.

” Funny little Prague ” – A report of the meeting in Prague (Feb. 2010) by the FaceBookie Marion K.

When I met Alexander in Berlin in December (2009) I really couldn’t imagine that I would meet him again so soon. We spoke to him about having a concert in Prague but I never thought that this would really happen but then the concert was announced a couple of weeks ago and for me it was sure that I had to be there NO MATTER WHAT! Report On The Concert And The FaceBookies’ Meeting In Prague, Febr. 24th-27th 2010 (by Julia B.)

Report of the concert in Gothenburg, Sweden, Oct. 19th 2009

(A report by Milada Lenhartová from Brno, Czech Republik)

(Translated from Czech by Danka Čolláková, Slovakia)

Hi, Hi there everyone! I returned from Sweden, I have not even unpacked, and I’m with you. Do I have noted that it was such a surreal experience that I absolutely did not provide. For the record: I’m the old person who finally went with her husband the “honeymoon” after 37 years of marriage – to Alex’s concert in Goteborg. (I will find that once I’ve got a new computer, I’m not used to it…) but I should have noted that even though I’m an old granny according to calendar, I still feel like a girl, so I can also take these trips for Alex (in total enchantment) …

“The Operation 10/10
or
how Rybak’s Facebookies went to Olso”
a report by
Irena Bay

Part 1

Well guys, I think it’s time for me to report back to the grid… to be honest I don’t feel that I will be able to put into words what I have experienced this weekend with these indescribably wonderful people … I know my account will fail to convey what really happened … still – I am a FB spy on duty, night and day, and I would never let you down! 😀

My story begins way earlier than the most stories you have read here until now[1]. My story began in July this year when out of the blue I found myself organizing and directing a facebook project – how the hell did that happen again?? (And why I am working on the new one in my head like crazy again since yesterday??)
