Transcript of the interview:
Host: Alexander, hello! I’ve heard that you’ve become a producer now. You have your own group in Belarus, which you are preparing for Eurovision. Is that true? Tell us more.
AR: I also heard that I’ve become a producer. To be honest, I wrote a song. I have an idea for the number. I have an idea about the Belarusian accent.. you know when we sing in English, we all, Slavic people, have a funny accent. And instead of hiding it, I wrote a song about it.. the girls sing that “I will always love you, but if you take me, then my accent will have to stay with me”.
AR: I have a producer in Belarus, and he helps us. It’s he who will develop this group. I wouldn’t organise the casting and listen to 400 girls just for one song.Of course, we’ll continue to make songs for them and so on. But, first and foremost, I am a composer.
The Eurovision winner shared with “Komsomolka” who has upset him, what he doesn’t regret, and if he will continue working with Milki.
After the Belarusian national selection to Eurovision, most of the discussion was not about the winning duet of the singer Uzari and violinist Maimuna, but about Sasha Rybak, the triumphant Eurovision winner, a Norwegian with Belarusian roots- having been offended. In the past year, Alexander has not just been a passing visitor in our country, but one of our own, as the producer of the group Milki, and despite opposing predictions, he plans to continue his collaboration with the group.
Alexander will take part in the 3rd season of the popular Russian TV show “One to One”, which will be broadcast on the TV-channel “Russia 1”! The show starts on February 8. It will be aired on Sundays at 13:00 CET. And it’s possible to watch it online here

Although the girls won’t be representing Belarus at the prestigious music contest, the Norwegian singer is already preparing a second song for this team of girls.
In June, Alexander visited the studio of a very popular Russian musical TV-channel during his promotional tour in support of his soundtrack “Into a Fantasy” to the movie “How to Train Your Dragon 2”, where he answered fans’ questions in live video chat. Very interesting and funny interview 🙂

We certainly want to know how that the Rybak-Calleja-Connection came about.
Alexander Rybak, who was recently traveling around and auditioning in Belarus, has picked his girl band, which will compete for the right to travel to Eurovision 2015. On his FaceBook page, the musician has posted a video where he announced the names of the winners. “Znamenka” found out the girls’ reactions to the news, how they made it into Rybak’s quintet and also what they will have to go through to make their dreams come true.
Recently Alexander held auditions in four cities of Belarus – Mogilev, Grodno, Minsk and Brest, where he looked for talented girls for his new Belorussian group. And today Alexander announced the winners of the auditions on his official Facebook-page with a sweet video-message which you can watch by clicking on this picture.
The video is in Russian, so if you don’t understand it, here is the translation:
AR: Dear friends, Alexander Rybak from Norway, Oslo, is with you. I thank you. I thank all of you who came to the casting for my project. Me and my team got to listen to a lot of interesting voices. And if you didn’t win, if you didn’t go through, it doesn’t mean that you’re not talented. I just have my own concept and I chose girls for my act. So, the winners of the casting are: Tatiana Stakhovskaya from Minsk, Anna Ray from Minsk, Victoria Nazarko from Grodno, Taisiya Serikova from Gomel’ and Marina Putnikova from Gorky. I congratulate all of you. And I hope that you will please not only Belarus, but also the whole of Europe. Good luck!
“When I was 4 years old, I and my parents moved from Belarus to Norway. Back then my parents brought some tapes of Russian movies with them. Among them, there was the comedy “The Irony of Fate”. I heard the song «Я спросил у ясеня» (“I Asked the Ash”) in that movie for the first time, said Alexander Rybak. – I’m familiar with the situation that this song tells about. Once, I myself had experienced the same emotions. The girl who I loved, and devoted my song “Fairytale” to, left me for my best friend. It was hard for me to pass through this break up. Now I try not to fall in love, and to put all my feelings into music”. Precisely this song was performed by Alexander in the Ukrainian musical TV-show “Meeting Place” on Saturday. The theme of this episode was cheating. And, in addition, Alexander played a piece of “Bergrosa” as the introduction to the song of another artist.
Alexander invites talented girls to the casting for competing in the national selection for “Eurovision 2015”!
AR: Dear countrymen, you know that I’m a big fan of Eurovision and I’m a big fan of Belarus, so I invite you all to the local auditions for my song for the national selection. Good luck. Yours Sasha Rybak.

Alexander Rybak is in an active searching process. No, the winner of “Eurovision-2009” has no plans to look for his ladylove. This time, all thoughts of the 28-year-old musician are dedicated entirely to his new projects: the other day, he announced the all-Belarusian casting for a new girl band. Newfound Norwegian Meladze (a famous Ukrainian composer and producer) and his team will personally tour around cities and villages to find the most beautiful and strong-voiced Belarusian girls. In addition to Rybak’s patronage, these girls are promised one more substantial stake: this spring, the new girl band will go to Vienna to conquer the sixtieth anniversary of the “Eurovision Song Contest 2015”.
Alexander took part in recording of the Ukrainian music show called “Meeting Place” which took place this September in Kiev. Each episode of the show has its own special theme and today’s theme was about love, where Alexander performed “Fairytale”. Next week we’ll hear a beautiful Russian song “Ja sprosil u jasenja” from him.
Alexander took part in the Norwegian TV-show “The Hit” on October 10th 2014, where famous artists compete with songs written by amateurs. If you want to read more about the concept of the show, you can find it here. Alexander chose a wonderful song “What I Long For” written by Elisabet Mjanger. Unfortunately, Alexander didn’t win the duel, but he did his best and made a great performance which we can enjoy now! 🙂

The people in Valdres love Alexander Rybak. And the feelings are mutual.
– I’ve been here on Valdres Sommersymfoni since I was … well … 12 years, maybe? Says Alexander Rybak, who gathered a large audience for an outdoor concert in the centre of Fagernes.
Even in a hectic program, he found time for this concert at Fagernes. Rybak flew in from Ukraine the day before, played in Oslo, then Fagernes, and went straight from Fagernes to Moscow as the next destination.
We had a guest on our balcony – the winner of “Eurovision”, Alexander Rybak.
We were visited today by Alexander Rybak, the winner of “Eurovision – 2009”. Sasha is not a rare visitor in the capital of Ukraine, but we met for the first time. Vgorode took the opportunity to ask some questions. In particular we asked about Alexander’s favourite places in Kiev and about Maidan. The musician told us that he loves Kiev for the fact that, despite its status of metropolis, it is still a colourful and green city, it is not dusty like many other cities.

Alexander Rybak still sings about dreams, fantasies and adventures – with a rather familiar tone.
“Into A Fantasy”

There is something constantly uplifting and positive in the best and the most of what Alexander Rybak does. And so it is also in his new single “Into a Fantasy” which is derived from the sequel of the animated success “Dragetreneren”(How to Train Your Dragon” which has Norwegian premiere on July 4th.
