Alexander was a guest in the Norwegian talk-show Lindmo on NRK1, Saturday 20. January 2018. The show was pre-recorded 16. January. It’s the first time Alexander visited this popular talk-show, and the occasion was Alexander’s participation in Melodi Grand Prix, the Norwegian selection for Eurovision Song Contest. What great news! Alexander is taking part in MGP 2018
Alexander Rybak was presented as one of the 10 artists/composers who will take part in Melodi Grand Prix, the Norwegian selection for Eurovision 2018.
The presentation was broadcast and streamed live and below you’ll find a playlist of videos with subtitles from the presentation and several interviews made at the press conference. And of course his song 🙂

The show is about children who are left without parental care and who are fond of dancing. Several well-known artists supports the participants in the different epiosdes, and in this episode Alexander supports the 16-year old Alina Grevtseva, by playing when she dances to “Fairytale”.
Fred Astaire (born Frederick Austerlitz; May 10, 1899 – June 22, 1987) was an American dancer, singer, actor, choreographer and television presenter. As well as being the 30th anniversary of the death of probably the world’s most eminent dancer, 2017 is also the 70th anniversary of Fred Astaire Dance Studios. Co-founded by this exceptional artist in 1947, the chain now boasts 170 franchised studios around the world.
For this album Rainer C. Regatschnig, Wolfgang Lohr and Justin Fidèle teamed up in order to explore how the original songs of Fred Astaire would sound with a contemporary arrangement and sung by some of the most energetic and still sensitive singers of nowadays.

Alexander was a guest artist in Greta Salome’s great concert in Reykjavik, Iceland, the 18th of March 2017. The concert was held in Harpa Concert Hall. Thursday the 17th the concert was played twice in the Hof Concert Hall in Akureyri. All three concerts were sold out! 🙂
Alexander played the following songs: “Song from a Secret Garden”, “I Came to Love You”, “Roll with the Wind”. Then two duets with Greta Salome: “Violin Fun” and “Four seasons, Summer by Vivaldi”, and Alexander featured with Greta Salome and Stefan Jakobsson in Iceland’s Eurovision song 2012 – “Never Forget”. And as the final number Greta joined Alexander in “Fairytale”.
Alexander Rybak came, saw and conquered for Norway in Eurovision in spring 2009 with his song “Fairytale”, and got more votes than had ever been given in the competition. He has since then been popular around the world. Alexander has written and performed clicks a revelation, he has won awards, written a children’s book about bullying, and this weekend he has concerts with Greta Salome in Akureyri and Reykjavík. Alexander had a great concert with Gomel Symphony Orchestra the 2nd of March, and thanks to Galina Sokolova and Juliet Rusak, we can now enjoy videos of his performances and small talks between the songs. 🙂

Superbarna’s album “Hipp Hurra” is nominated for Spellemann Award 2016 in the category “Childrens music”. The show is broadcast on Norwegian TV NRK Saturday 28.1.2017, starting at kl 20.55 CET.

Attracts audiences. Alexander Rybak made sure that the New Year concert was sold out for the first time since the premiere in 1994.
Steinkjer: TrondheimSolistene has played a New Year concert every year since 1994 at Dampsaga culture house. But it was only with their 24th attempt that they could enter the stage in front of a sold out venue.
Alexander’s version of the song “Just a Closer Walk with Thee” – Music video and lyrics in several languages.
“Just a Closer Walk with Thee” is a traditional gospel song. The song is perhaps the most frequently played number in the hymn and dirge section of traditional New Orleans jazz funerals. Alexander Rybak was one of the artists who supported the Salvation Army’s Christmas charity “Håp i ei gryte” (Hope in a pot), and performed on their Advent show, which was broadcast on Norwegian TV2 both on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of December.
