Inspires young talent. The Eurovision winner was in the Melodifestival city this weekend.

The music school in Skellefteå turns 50 and has invited Alexander Rybak.

Over two hundred students from Skellefteå, Lycksele and Umeå spent the weekend on a string orchestra seminar with their idol. Sunday morning they did the last adjustments before two concerts at Anderstorpsskolan in Skellefteå.

Many students took the opportunity to also go to the Melodifestival this weekend. But to learn from Rybak hit higher.

“ This was the most fun, because you are involved,” says Alva Berndtsson from Skellefteå.

“ It feels good but a little nervous too”, admits Anna Nilsson of Lycksele.

Missionary with bow

Alexander Rybak has a project where he travels around and gives concerts – and also uses  the opportunity to share his knowledge.

– It has become my mission to inspire young talent. When I was young, I had idols that helped me cope with practising  every day.
