Have been dreaming about since I won

Alexander Rybak didn’t want to become a MGP composer before he had found an artist who could represent the essence of Norway. Then the girl from Sarpsborg Annsofi Pettersen turned up.
Yesterday revealed the seven artists who will participate in the MGP semifinal in Florø next Saturday. The 18 year-old Annsofi Pettersen from Sarpsborg is one of them.
She enters with the song “I’m With You” which is written by the greatest ESC winner ever : Alexander Rybak.
He tells that he is looking forward to come back to MGP.

– Since the time I won I have dreamt of carrying on as a composer in MGP. I wanted to wait with writing a new MGP-song until I have found an artist who can represent the essence of Norway,- he says.

– When I heard Annsofi singing the first time in 2010 I thought that in a few years this girl could be ready for MGP, where she can delight people with her fresh presence and her fantastic talent for communication. The song is about loss, and she has the needed credibility for such a song,- says Rybak.

He doesn’t think it is strange not to be on stage himself but handing over the reins to somebody else.

-To start with writing a song for MGP is like to start exercising: You have to do it when you are exited and not when you have to do it,- he says.

Not afraid to stand in the “Rybak shadow”

Annsofi in turn, makes it clear that she is not afraid to stand in the shadow of Rybak, although there are many who have high expectations for his “Eurovision comeback”.
She has not felt any weight of expectation.

– You could easily think that Alexander has a blueprint for how to do things at MGP. But you have to be yourself and not a copy of someone else. He has always been clear about that it is me who is set for this year and not him,- she says to
