Alexander Rybak was the music guest at the Christ Universal Temple’s Sunday service 3 October 2021.
The Christ Universal Temple (CUT) started the celebration of their 65 anniversary with the Sunday services 3 October and invited Alexander Rybak to be their music guest. The church services are usually streamed live on YouTube, but unfortunately they had technical problems that day and the streaming failed. However, the service was recorded and uploaded to YouTube the same day.
Alexander was introduces by these words:
“CUT always aim to bring the best guests to our family. So today we have a special guest all the way from Norway. His name is Alex Rybak. He is the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest watched by 3 million* people and he got more points in that competition than Celine Dion. He has also played for Barack Obama. He is now currently studying his last semester at Colombia College studying film.
So, CUT, will you help me and give a big welcome to, all the way from Norway, Alex Rybak. “
* The 3 million should of course have been 300 million
Alexander performed the song “A Song from a Secret Garden” and the joyful gospel song “Just a Closer Walk With Thee” together with the church choir, and he featured the choir playing the violin.
And it is great to see him performing again, and we fully agree with this comment on the church video of the service:
“Little Alex from Norway is a credit to his race. God Bless his little heart for embracing us with his talents. He’s a refreshing ball of fire!”
You can enjoy Alexander’s performance of “Just a Closer Walk With Thee” from the service on his own YT-channel:
And you can watch him playing “Songs of a Secret Garden” and his featuring of the choir in this video from about 08.30 to 27.00.
