“Classical music isn’t that many steps from Rock’n Roll”
Winters can be harsh, icy and cold (especially in Norway!), but it’s your loved ones who can bring back the warmth into the season.
What better way then to express the essence of winter’s soul than through music? Alexander does just this in the following video, where he performs Vivaldi – “Winter”, from his 2010 tour “Swinging Home for Christmas”.
Alexander once said himself, when talking about Vivaldi’s Winter, that “Classical music isn’t that many steps from Rock’n Roll”. Therefore, no matter what genre of music you enjoy listening to the most, we hope that this classical piece appeals to you.
In NRK Klassisk’s “Min favorittmusikk” radio show last week, Alexander talked again about Vivaldi’s winter.
“It’s just that some composers have this ability to describe moods and feelings, and seasons. And speaking about seasons, one has to mention Antonio Vivaldi. This genius who wrote one of the Baroque’s most famous music work “The Seasons”. Vivaldi wrote also a poem that belonged to these seasons, but I don’t think I have time to read the whole poem out loud, but “Winter” is about that it is cold. Very, very cold. And speaking about interaction, one has to be quite cold too to manage all the different tempos in this musical work.”
