Simone from “Hver gang vi møtes” 2014 on TV2

Simone Larsen was born in Freiburg, Germany and raised in Volda from the age of nine. She started singing in bands when she was 13, and has a background in jazz, soul and pop. After high school she moved to Oslo, where she sang with The Dingleberries before she met Jonny and Kim. The trio began playing together the summer of 1993. The idea was to create melodic pop with jazz and funk inspired rhythms. Elements from groovy funk, acid jazz and modern dance music mixed with the trio’s penchant for the melodic, and from this arose a unique sound – a “sound”. They chose to name their band The Sound. The drummer, Ofstad, suggested a more eye catching spelling  – D’Sound. (ref.: Rockipedia )

WHAT IS YOUR WORK RELATIONSHIP TO THE FIDDLER?
He is a wonderful musician, and a unique and likable person, that I had the honor of sharing 10 days with on a farm, playing music and talking about life.

MY FIRST MEET WITH THE FIDDLER:
I met him briefly just before his soundcheck for his first performance of “Fairytale”. He seemed very timid and nervous, but when the cameras rolled and the song started he was just like fireworks. I was instantly blown away by his performance.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THE FIDDLER:
In addition to his special talent and his musicality, I like that Alexander is so sincere and passionate. And that he doesn’t try to be better or different. He is also quite good at recognizing others.

WHAT IS ANNOYING ABOUT THE FIDDLER?
He seems to always have a cold…

THE MOST REMARKABLE THING I EXPERIENCED WHILE SPENDING THOSE DAYS WITH THE FIDDLER:
His energy on stage.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS EXACT SONG FROM THE FIDDLER’S CATALOGUE?
I was fascinated by the confusing emotions: when fame hits you, almost like a wave, and when you at the same time fall in love. That’s a lot of emotions to deal with at once.

WHAT DID YOU THINK ABOUT ALEXANDER’S INTERPRETATION OF YOUR SONG?

I LOVED IT!!!!

MESSAGE TO THE FACEBOOKIES:

Alexander is lucky to have you guys on his side!
